We pride ourselves in supplying our children with excellent food. We feel that it is one of the most important parts of a child's life - to eat properly.
Eating a healthy diet enables a child to live life to the full and gives them a better performance all round, specifically helping with their concentration levels - which in turn affects achievement.
Children in Key Stage One (Reception, Years 1 and 2) are entitled to a free school meal. For Key Stage two pupils (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) the price is £2.30 per child per day.
In our primary schools our meals;
- have a three-menu cycle, allowing children to become familiar with the food served;
- are changed every term to reflect the seasons; and
- are written in consultation with pupils and cooks.
An additional option of jacket potato at lunchtime is available if children prefer to have this. The choice of fillings are on a rota basis:
Monday - beans
Tuesday - cheese
Wednesday - tuna
Thursday - beans
Friday - cheese
This is served with vegetables/salad and a dessert. The cost is the same as a standard school dinner (£2.30). Your child is able to choose this option in the morning during lunch register, however, the system remains the same: school dinner or packed lunch with half a terms notice to change.
