I have previously worked as a Vice-Principal at a local College where I held a senior management position for over 20 years. I have also worked as a Learn Direct Manager, Adult and Community Learning Officer, Youth Worker and Youth Support Worker for young carers.

I have had responsibility for ensuring the curriculum and quality was fit for purpose and continually developed and met local and national needs and targets, within financial targets.  I have a wide range of transferable skills in education; as well as finance and human resource management that I can bring to the governing body.

In my free time, at the weekends, I enjoy reading, walking and theatre, especially Northern Broadsides.

I have lived in Whitley since 1991, initially with my parents who are still in the village, and now with my husband and sons.  My sons both thoroughly enjoyed their time at Whitley & Eggborough Primary School and now attend local secondary schools.
I am Head of School at a Doncaster primary school, having taught there for 20 years. I’m passionate about primary education with my specialist subject being Maths. I am also a governor at my school.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. Holidays and days out with a picnic are our favourite family times. I also spend a lot of time on a rugby sideline or watching kickboxing lessons as I support my sons’ hobbies. My own newfound hobby is running, so you will see me regularly (slowly) running around the village.

Prior to working within a school, I worked for a large insurance company in both New Business and Direct Marketing. I have worked at Whitley and Eggborough for many years as the School Business Manager.

My role in school is very varied, no day is the same! Amongst other things, my work involves looking after the school budget, ensuring the building is safe and secure, and dealing with the procurement of contracts.

I have lived in Whitley since 1991, moving here from Bridlington with my husband and 3 children. I started work at The Snaith School in the same year. I was employed as the School Secretary and this role progressed to School Business Manager until my retirement in 2013.  I was a member of the School Leadership Team and served on the School Governing Body.
Two of our grandchildren have been lucky enough to attend Whitley & Eggborough Primary and we have enjoyed every minute of hands-on grand-parenting, before and after school, and at school events.   Pre Covid I was visiting school weekly to listen to readers in Miss Clegg’s class.  I keep fit with regular yoga classes and enjoy travelling and trips to the coast.

I’ve lived and worked in Eggborough for the past 12 years and have two children currently loving their time at the school.

I work locally at Saint-Gobain Glass as a senior electrical engineer and this role has given me some valuable key skills and experience that I can use in my Governor’s role, relating to budget planning and health and safety management.

My primary pastime is spending time with my wife and two children. My other interests include football (playing and watching Leeds United) and Formula 1.  I also work hard at home to try to develop my engineering career and progress as far as I can in the business.
