Supporting Your Child at Home

We pride ourselves on working both on academic learning and social and emotional wellbeing.

From the start of your child’s time with us at Whitley and Eggborough CP School, we support children to with their wellbeing development. From the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum we enable children to develop their social, self-care and independence skills. Alongside this, we have a programme of wellbeing that supports their emotional literacy, so that they can recognise and talk about their thoughts and feelings.

Every day, all children across the school access an In the Zones Check in. Alongside this, there are weekly personal, social and emotional lessons delivered through our Jigsaw curriculum.

We also work with external agencies to deliver sessions on issues such as water safety, railway safety and keeping safe at key events such as Bonfire Night.

Below are a list of resources that parents/ carers might find useful in supporting children at home.
